Speke Citizens Advice Bureau is a generalist advice service. Using the CAB Service's unique information system we can give you free, confidential, impartial and independent advice and information on a wide range of subjects. In addition to our general service we can also offer specialist advice in a range of different matter such as money advice and welfare rights. CAB advice and information can also be found on the CAB Service's Advice guide website. If you need further advice or information and you live in the Speke area, you can contact us in person, by phone or in writing. If you do not live or work in Speke and the surrounding area, the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux website includes a UK wide directory of local CAB with their contact details and the services they offer.
The Bureau carries out evidence work and seeks to use this to influence decision-makers. For example if benefit delays are causing a problem for a significant number of our clients we will gather the facts from our callers and then contact the agency concerned or take the matter up with MPs, councillors or others. We are always looking for volunteers to help with this aspect of our work and trustee Board members with a special interest or skills in doing evidence based work. Often we take part in national social policy initiatives with other Bureau through Citizens Advice. Sometimes
we seek media publicity to take forward this work. |
